A datacard gku folder just turned up on my aspire one as well, it might be something to do with the live update i carried out? i don't think it was there before i ran the updater. I'm going to delete it, i'm in charge of who puts what on my computer!

    Hi ChrisH

It looks like your datacardGKU is related to 3G networks and has been part of the updates from Acer. I last done Live Update on Monday and part of that was a patch for a 3G modem and is called datacardGKU.
I have also searched in File Manager for entries related to datacard and there are 13 (unlucky for some) in my system dating back to July 2008. The greatest number have a date of 20 February 2009 and one is DataCardGKU, an executable.

I managed to remove this app by going into your terminal as root and using this:

    Code:
    yum remove datacardu

    cheers
