So I've just ordered a white AAO with Windows XP, 120 GB HD, 1GB RAM...
It's coming in on monday and I want to be prepared.
I'm already going to follow all the steps posted here http://www.law.wustl.edu/computersuppor ... rmance.htm

I was just wondering if there's anything else I should be doing.
I also learned that the AAO comes preloaded with a trial of McAfee Antivirus, Office Trial, etc and I want to get rid of it asap.
So what I need is the tutorial on how to config XP so as to not leave any residue when uninstalling and removing files.
I want to be able to just go into control panel -> uninstall and get rid of stuff without leaving stuff that will bog my computer down.

    Anyone know how?

Also, any other tips would be appreciated.

I just uninstalled McAfee from the add/remove program. :?

I've already downloaded AVG, turned the Windows firewall on for now. Will this be OK or should I run that tool, or maybe it's too late.
