Dead Aspire one wont read usb?

    Hi guys just after a bit of help if anyone has experienced the same thing, i just got a zg5 white model (im not sure if this makes a difference), its basicly seems to have black screen of death, but if i hold the fn + esc it doesnt attempt to read the usb stick, i have used this usb stick on my own aspire one when it done this to me a few months back. Is there any reason why it wouldnt read the stick? ive tried all 3 usb ports

    Ive just noticed that there is no noise from the fan, if the fan is dud can this cause it to not start?

    Forgot to add aswell it does flash when holding fn + esc but doesnt read the stick
