Debian founder's life ends under strange circumstances.

I'm sad to share that Ian Murdock passed on. There were some odd messages posted to his twitter account regarding police brutality and suicide and it isn't clear if he actually did the posting. It hasn't been verified but this may have been a suicide. Hopefully the facts come out soon.

Ian Murdock was the founder of the Debian GNU/Linux distribution. He was only 42 years of age.

 

So sad! He was so young and looked great for someone his age, and I don't mean only physically, but you could tell he was such a youthful person on the inside as well. I really hope it wasn't murder.

 

that's so sad ! he was still young and able to give more to the linux OS, that's very sad news, I wish that the truth will be out soon as you said !

 

There hasn't been any evidence of murder. It is leaning towards suicide.

 

The world lost another great mind and that is very sad!
