    Hello!

I recently installed Debian. However, after I installed MadWifi (on kernel 2.6.26) then ran apt-get upgrade, when I boot into kernel 2.6.29, there is no internet whatsoever (including ethernet and wifi). I did some Googling and it seems to be a bug, but various other distro's I've tried (such as Fedora 11) use the same kernel and I have no problem.

I have both 2.6.26 and 2.6.29 on my AAO, and I'm posting from .26 with no problems, but I'd still like to know how to get .29 working.

    Thanks.

Not sure about the ethernet problem. However, my guess is that you've only installed madwifi for kernel 2.6.26, and not for kernel 2.6.29. The ath5k module in kernel 2.6.29, works on the AA1 (as will a properly-installed madwifi driver); the ath5k driver in kernel 2.6.26 did not work (or did not work well) on the AA1. One way for you to go would probably be to install the madwifi drivers for the 2.6.29 kernel. Another option is to un-blacklist the ath5k module and reboot (into kernel 2.6.29). Your system should recognize the wlan0 interface and connect you automatically.
