Debian runs slower than Windows XP

    Hello!
    I installed Debian Lenny in my aspire one 150. After a lot of configuration everythig works great. It was very slow until i installed the video drivers.
    Now it works way faster, but is still slower than XP. Is it possible? am i forgetting some configuration? i can't belive that debian is slower than xp... something must be wrong.

    Any ideas?
