    Hey,

I just purchased an Acer Aspire One AOA110-1995 (1.6GHz Atom, 1GB DDR2, 16GB SSD, XP Home, 3cell, etc.). XP Home is installed, but it is rather slow (even after being tweaked a bit). It came to mind that Debian Stable (version 5.0 currently) would be great for these laptops, since it is speedy and light (much more so than the distros listed in the forums ). Does anyone know if there would be any problems installing Debian Stable on this machine? Would there be any hardware or driver issues? Would using WiFi be straightforwards? How about webcam and those other features?

This is the link to Debian, in case anyone is unfamiliar with it.
    http://www.debian.org/

    Any input is appreciated,

    Thanks!

I really like debian but obviously you don't get the latest software, latest kernel, ...
I would advise you to use another distribution based on debian (ubuntu, sidux, ...).

But if you still want to go for debian you can find help here:
