Decent price on an external CD/DVD drive

    I have this LG drive. Works well. But it is heavy and bulky. No way will you carry it around. A slimline portable drive is better for portability...but they usually are limited to around 8X speeds and cost quite a bit more...like this LteOn slimline for $69.99:

    except that one needs a power supply, it cannot draw exclusively from the USB port.

    Samsung and LG have slimline burners that only need a single usb port for power/data transfer, all-in-one.

    Yep, the LG does, I have one. ;) It's the model GP08, P/N:MAY57279107. Has lightscribe, dvdr/rw, and cdr/rw capabilities. Around $99, USD.

    Forgot to add: It comes with two usb cords, one for data and one for power, but the power one is not necessary for the One.
