I installed Pidgin on my AAO running linux (Linpus Lite or whatever the default is) and I noticed when I click links my friends send me, it pops up a message saying it can't open it with the default program.

Also, opening .pdf links don't work in my firefox.

Given, I have modded it some, installing epdfviewer as recommended by Macles, and upgrading to Firefox 3.

Is there an easy way to change the program used to open files by default without going to each file individually and setting it by the context menu?

"Preferred applications" in settings will sort out url and mailto links. Applications in firefox preferences will sort the pdfs.
