In Windows XP how do you arrange your Icons horizontally along the top rather than vertically on the left side. Was trying to do this last night and everytime I moved the icons along the top once I'd shutdown and restarted the icons were back in their original position up and down the left side of the screen. A quick how to tip would be much appreciated and sorry if it's a dumb question. I'm old.

After you arranged the icons the way you like them, leftclick on desktop (to be sure it's "active") then press F5 to update position of the icons, and Windows should remember it after reboot.
    This trick works for me.
