    one is free?
powerpack costs extra, but it's the same OS with some software included.

just install mandriva one (also known as 2009)

Do you have any idea what software is included in the powerpack version or where I can find a list of the software.

I couldn't determine what the software was...
The repositories within Mandriva One contain everything I need.

    It is not.
Install One. The only reason you would like to install "Free" is, if you deem it necessary to only use software that is open source.

/edit: It seems that free isn't available anymore, i didn't see it on the downloadpage, so, if you don't want to pay, download "One"; if you like some extras and more support, buy the Powerpack.

    Free is still available.

There are two version at no charge of cost :
Free : for the "GNU/LInux purist", it contains only free software and drivers (free as speech, not as beer)
One : it contains non-free software and drivers, so it is the best choice for regular users (nvidia and ati proprietary drivers, adobe flash...)

Powerpacks : you must purchase it, it contains software to play fine Windows game on Linux, playing DVD...
