Hello, Im a new useer of the AA1 and Im truly delighted so far with this netbook.
At night when reading some PDF books, the backlight is too bright  :x and I want to lower the brightness setting more, is this possible? I did search the forums but found only that a particular BIOS version allowed it. My model is the ZG5. I dont know anything about BIOS stuff so I would love an easier approach, but ill do anything thats effective.

    Thank you in advance!

Make a scheme through intel display driver. Set the brightness to a lower level. Then make a scheme of the regular brightness.

When you read ebooks at night, switch to the low brightness and when you're done switch it back.

Just to contribute a little on te subject, if you use firefox you can go to options and then colors, and change the background color to black and the text color to white or some <pleasant shade of grey>,and it is a lot easier on the eyes if your at night
I would still love a more definite solution on brightness...

just to add on my last partial solution,
insall the firefox addon called "Toolbar Buttons", with it you can customize your toolbars and add a button to change colors. then configure the colors to a darker shade. And whenn you want to change colors you just press the button and voila!
this is an addon that i love, there are a LOT of extra buttons that are very useful
