my one has just gone the same way, only had it 30 days. I put XP home on it and upgraded the drivers, it was working just great. I closed it down for the night and in the morning tried to boot it, nothing happend, blank screen, no bios nothing i can hear the fan going inside.

I phoned Acer, they have given me a dispatch number for repairs but also said that Aspires ones are not built to take XP as it can blow the motherboard
if this is what has happend i will have to pay £70 to have it replaced.

I have never seen a warning and there are xp drivers for aspire ones supplied by acer
Has this happend to anyone else, is it an on going problem. :?:
    any advice would be appreciated.

    Need more input...
Is the keyboard working? Press cap lock and see if the led lid.
Check if motherboard working... try ctrl-alt-del in windows xp and see if the drive led lid.
Try to connect the external VGA port to a screen

This thread appears to be describing the problems you are seeing; if you look on page 7 of that topic you will find that someone suggested flashing the BIOS, and it seems to have sorted out the problem for many people.
