Can't see the point of using lower resolutions...

increasing the font DPI might help with that?

    Re: Display Settings: more Resolutions

    Hi,

My problem is that my Plasma screen does not allow me to connect my AA1. According to the documentation, the minimum resolution is 1024x768 so I want to try to change the resolution on the Aspire to see if it works.

    Cheers

    Re: Display Settings: more Resolutions

I read that thread and wanted to reply to it but it is locked.

I tried adding higher resolutions to the modes of the Display subsection but I don't manage to get it to work: I get the message "Size 1024x768 not found in available modes" when I try xrandr -s 1024x768.

I read somewhere that the /var/log/Xorg.0.log file would display the resolutions available with the video card but I only see the 1024x600.

But the thread you mentioned and a few others seem to demonstrate that there is a way and that I just have some missing pieces.

I tried to change the Monitor Layout option to get the display on my Plasma screen without success. I will try to change the "Driver" option...

    Cheers

I'm using clone rather than xrandr, using the AA1 to display on either a n external monitor or projector. Not typically using the internal screen...I think that's the difference.

    Re: Display Settings: more Resolutions

Thanks. I'll try Clone and see if can get around the Available Resolutions issue.

I finally managed to display my screen on the Plasma screen by following this wiki:
    http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Xorg_RandR_1.2

I type: xrandr --output LVDS --auto --output VGA --auto --same-as LVDS
    And: xrandr -s 800x600
And the plasma displays the screen. But only in 800x600 for the moment ;)
