I have an A150, and want to flash to BIOS to the new 3310. However, the readme file says "Please execute "3310.BAT" to update bios under DOS environment.", so how do I boot this computer into DOS mode? The Safe Mode Command Promt does not seem to do the trick. How do some of you boot this type of Acer Aspire One into DOS mode for a BIOS flash?

you need to make a DOS boot disk.
insert a blank diskette in the drive, then format it from windows (right click then choose format). One of the options of format is to make a system disk. select that one.
the space left once its done may not be enough to allow you to save the BIOS file and the batch file on the floppy but for the sake of the upgrade you can delete most of them (not the system files like IO,SYS or MSOS.SYS or COMMAND.COM tho).
Once you copied the bios/batch files on the floppy, boot from there and run the batch file from the DOS prompt.

I believe in Windows you can make a DOS boot disk the same way using a USB memory stick.

You actually do NOT need to make a dos boot disk or dos boot USB key in order to update the BIOS on the Acer Aspire One.
If you have a 1 GB USB key, just format it as FAT, copy the FLASHIT.EXE file to the USB key, and copy the BIOS FD file to the USB key as well. Rename the BIOS FD file to : ZG5IA32.FD (for the AAO 110 and AAO 150 machines).
Then follow the following procedure to flash your BIOS :
    Shutdown the AAO.
Press the FN and the ESC keys, and keep them pressed.
    Turn on the AAO.le
When you see the Powerbutton LED start to blink, release the FN and ESC keys.
The AAO is flashing the BIOS now.
When the Powerbutton LED stops blinking the BIOS flash is done. Wait a moment more, and the AAO will reboot using the new BIOS.

If you don't want to follow the above emergency BIOS flash procedure, you need to make a bootable USB key.
Download the latest version of unetbootin from here : http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
Versions for Windows as well as Linux is available.
Use Unetbootin to download and install a bootable version of Freedos onto a FAT or FAT32 formatted USB key.
Copy the contents of the downloaded BIOS update zip file to the USB key.
Reboot the AAO using the Boot menu (F12) to select the USB key as the boot device.
Select Freedos, and don't load any memory managers.
CD to to the directory where you stored the contents of the BIOS update zp file.
Execute the bat file to update the Bios.

That FreeDOS on the USB flash drive did the trick. Thank you!
