Game works. I'm guessing xcom ufo defense will have same performance.

    Getting dosbox
open up terminal and type in
    sudo yum install dosbox

    mounting
mount a /home/user/Downlo~1/(your game directory here)

    linux is case sensitive, beware.

copy your games to the download directory

    Enjoy!

Actually, I was thinking about trying the old Xcom (1,2,3) games on DosBox too, but just didn't get around to do it (my linpus file system got corrupted, which gave me a good reason tot ry XP and Ubuntu).
I am glad to hear that it works, because Xcom is one of my favorite games.

I will have to give this a go, I never could get XCOM: UFO DEFENSE running on Dosbox in Windows. There really is no modern game like the XCOM games (the 3D UFO games are fairly terrible, I got them all on sale for $10).

most versions of UFO 1 out there, are windows version. It was tricky for me to find the DOS version. Maybe check for compatibility issues?

yes there is. I think the version out there, is the collecter's edition.

When I run it under dosbox, I get an error saying it can't be run under dos.

you used to be able to download a free copy of xcom1 from

    http://www.xcomufo.com/

but this seems to have been removed recently, although I do have a copy somewhere, and I know it ran properly under dosbox for windows

when I find it, I'm gonna give it a go under linpus
