I am wondering how to do this, Ive read a lot of how to's that tell you how to add xp to a linux pc but nothing of this nature.

Also if possible I would like to do it without a cd drive

In fact, the other way around (Linux on XP) is much more easier. The process is automated in the distro installation itself. You have to make sure that your hard drive has been inspected and defragmented first. You may also want to make a full backup of your disk prior to install. The boot loader (Grub) that lets you choose the booting system on startup installs in breeze but doesn't let go easily if you want to remove it later.

    So in a few words:

    1. Defragment you hard drive.

    2. Make a full backup (suggested).

    3. Download the iso of a good LInux distro. My favorite one is by far EEEbuntu NBR. You may find the procedure to install with a USB key somwhere in this forum. I use an external CD-ROM

    4. The critical part will be when you are at the partition tools. You want to RESIZE your partition and not use entire disk. You can look at these instructions:

    Enjoy it :)
