Hi all; I have tried to respond to others who need help so I'm hoping someone will set me straight here.

I was able to set up a 20 gb partition - using partition magic and download and install windows 7. It installed very easily and infact had a lot of system updates. The only thing I had to go find was the mouse driver, which is on another thread here.

I have used the Documents feature on start up to link my music, photos, documents, and movies from the XP partition, no problems.

However, of course the documents are not recognized as Microsoft Office 2007 is installed on the XP Partition. I tried to move the shortcut, but it said not able to be opened.

Therefore my question is, do I have to install microsoft office as well on the 7 Partition? It has 10gb free. I set up as a 20gb partition. If so, I wouls assume programs like Microsoft Reader and Quicken would be the same way? I doubt I move quicken as this license will expire at some point, but just want to get the lay of the land.

So far, Windows 7 is nice. I like the ready boost feature for the acer. It gives it a little kick.

    Thanks,

What's the document feature you're talking about? Is it the library feature?

Anyways, programs that does registry configurations doens't work with multiple OS at the same time unless you make it portable by virtualizing the registry.
