Dual Screen resolution problem (xp)

    Ok... I have an external monitor. Plugged into the VGA port.

    The AA1 is set to 1024x600 resolution.
    According to the display properties, the second monitor is set to 800x600.

    However, the monitor is showing letterboxed, with big black bars top and bottom...

    Now, if I change the display settings so that the AA1 is displayed in 800x600, both monitors change, and the external one fills the screen like it should.

    Am I doing something obvious wrong? Ive never had this problem on my other laptop lol

    ok, it works normally if I set it to extended desktop. But I want it as dual view. Isnt it possible to have dual view set up this way? Otherwise I'll just live with both monitors showing 800x600
