DVD Player problems

    Since I upgraded to Windows 7, my laptop doesn't open the DVD all the time and sometimes doesn't even recognize it (when I go to device manager it doesn't appear)

    Need more information.

    First off this is a forum pretty much dedicated to the Acer Aspire One series of Netbooks, which to the best of my knowledge, don't come with an optical drive built in.

    Then we'd need to know a bit more about the environment, what brand / model netbook / notebook you have, same for the optical drive etc etc. As well as what OS you're running, Windows XP? Windows 7? Linux?
