I'm a new guy, not really smart about any of this netbook stuff. I have ordered (but not received) my AOA150-1777 w/XP, I will use it for net surfing, entertainment and keeping up with the weather while camping.

I have seen on here about loading programs into your desk top PC then transferring to a USB flash drive to be used to load into the AAO. My question is: is there a way to download some of my DVD movies from the PC to a USB drive so I can plug it in and watch them over the netbook? I can't see anything on my PC that would allow me to save anything from the DVD burner to a USB driver. So, can it be done? Would I need some software or anything? Any help would be welcome, thanks.

Yes it can be done. You can load the films onto SD card, usb stick or onto the hard drive. You will need a programme to get around the DVD copy protection (DRM), I use AnyDVD. You will also need a program to convert the DVD to some other format, the most common being DivX, but there are many others. Just google both of these to find all the different programmes available. The smaller the file size the lower the quality. I find about 1 GB per film is fine.
    Hope this helps.
