Hi all. Does the RAM card from an E5-571 fit into an E5-511?
A couple of things... IF BOTH sticks are DDR 3, or 4 if BOTH sticks are the SAME TYPE eg 204 pin SODIMM The quickest way, without asking other people to guess at the full modell numbers of the two computers, is to go to the CRUCIAL.CO.UK (in UK) or CRUCIAL.COM, most places in the World Click the dropdown box for Manufacturee box 1 - select ACER (as I guess the two ARE both ACERS/ Click the dropdown box for Model box 2 - select correct model No. eg ASPIRE ES then Click the dropdown box 3 to complete the actual Model number... when the page loads... there will be 'Offers' of SODIMMS to fit/Upgrade THAT model... REPEAT for the second Laptop... MY GUESS IS you wish to upgrade a 2Gb SODIMM to an 8GB SODIMM BE WARNED... UNLESS your Laptop was DESIGNED to take the upgrade it is UNLIKELY to WORK. for some reason Microsoft has been pressuring Manufacturers to build Laptops to FIXED Parameters... eg General purpose 'CHEAP' Laptops seem to be limited to 2 Gb RAM... MORE EXPENSIVE Laptops using 4 Gb RAM... MAY BE upgradeable to 8 Gb RAM... You will see on the crucial web site... JUST HOW BIG the MAXIMUM RAM allowed IS, Hope this helps others too when researching which Laptop to buy.
