Note that some batteries are built with 3.6V cells, as opposed to 3.7V and will therefore have a nominal voltage of 10.8V.

It doesn't make a great deal off difference but might alleviate the panic when the AH rating doesn't work out at exactly 2200mAH, 7200mAH or whatever!

i'd actually seen some sellers stating that the battery ran at 10.8 instead of 11.1 and figured, RED FLAG! but maybe that's not the case after all. i know nothing about this stuff! thanks for the clarification. :)

The Sanyo 3-cell that shipped with my white A150 is 10.8V. The Panasonic 3-cell that shipped with my blue A150 is 11.1V.

In theory the Panasonic battery has 2.7% more (power) capacity than the Sanyo, except that the Panasonic currently reports 3% wear and the Sanyo 0%. Also, I'm not sure if the DC-DC converter inside the AA1 is actually able to usefully convert the extra voltage into usable power.

I recall reading somewhere that the 3.6V cells typically have a significantly lower cutoff voltage than the 3.7V cells and therefore will actually provide more runtime in real use for a given AH rating.

Just got my battery in the mail. Anyone know of a battery utility for Linpus so I can verify if it is in fact 5200mAh? It does say 5200mAh in the system information, though I don't know if they can fake it so it shows that way.

My 9-cell Hong Kong battery from eBay from seller bill981101 arrived. It took almost 2 weeks to ship but I guess that is reasonable considering the distance. The packaging is passable and the battery case itself is large and heavy as suspected, but also has a bootleg look to it. It's in it's first process of cycling so I'll wait for a good couple of weeks before giving my impression. I feel I just got burned by mambate for sending me a faulty 3-cell battery that simply won't charge anymore after just around a week of use, therefore I don't want to give bill981101 a positive review until it is earned.

Anyway, here are the pics of the 9-cell:

And lastly, here are side by side pics of all sizes together (original 6-cell, dead 3-cell, new 9-cell)

Ordered from that seller Tuesday. Received USPS tracking info last night. I'll update you guys when I get it. Also, Novapcs should be getting my returned battery today. I'll be sure to let you know how the refund goes.

What address did you send it to? I sent mine back to mambate in (7014 20th Ave,
Brooklyn, NY 11204) so I'm wondering if yours is going to the same place.

I'm thinking of also getting the Duracell version of the AAO battery. http://www.duracelldirect.com/acer_aspire-one-white_batteries_laptop_b-5872.aspx has anyone tried it yet?

Here is Duracell's description of their product"

"High quality Laptop Batteries for your Acer Aspire One (White).

Meets or exceeds original manufacturer specifications for Aspire One (White) Batteries."

Yup. Same address. Different name. Though as I said before, the package came with the name "Mambate" on it.

6-cell from seller bill981101 is advertised as 5200mAh, BatteryBar reports 57,720mWh which is 5200mAh. Finally, a 6-cell that is the advertised mAh. BatteryBar reports over 5:30 on a full charge. 6 hours using Linpus.

Hi all. I bought a 7800mah battery for my AspireOne from 100digi. 100digi shipped it the next day, and it took about a week to get to California.

The battery arrived almost fully charged. Designed capacity is 86580mWh, and full charged capacity is 82717mWh, with a 5% wear level.

So far so good, takes forever to drain this battery. Yesterday, had gmabooster set to 400, wireless connection with a torrent downloading and an avi looping for around 6 hours before it shut down. Just surfing the net today with torrent downloading, looks like I'll get 7.5 to 8 hours.

I have been sent a replacement for the 4400mAH that I rejected. This reports a design capacity of 57720mWH @ 11.1V which is 5200mAH.

It arrived showing a "Full Capacity" of only 52226mWH (10% wear level), however after an hours use and a quick recharge it is now showing more than 56600mWH. With a bit of luck I should see something approaching the full designed capacity after a few more charge cycles.

Prices for these batteries do seem to be dropping, which is good news given the terrible GBP exchange rate at the moment.

Well, the "5300" battery arrived over the weekend. Maybe my imagination, but it feels heavier that the other battery I received from Novapcs. Also, the build quality is noticeably better. I've been having a lot of problems with the machine, mainly due to my constant hacking and tweaking the damn thing. So, I haven't really be able to test it much. Seems like I'll get about 5:30 with wifi on.

I do have a HUGE favor to ask of whoever is able. I'm noticing something odd, and I wonder if I have a defective battery. Since the 6-cell sticks out a bit, it won't comfortably fit into the original case / slip cover. So, I've been removing it when I throw it into my bag. Now, the weird thing that's been happening is when I put the battery back on and try to start it up, nothing happens. No flashing lights, no activity whatsoever. I plug in the power cord for a sec, wait for the battery charging light, and then the battery starts going. I can unplug the cord. Its as if the battery doesn't activate until it gets started by the power cable. Weird. Is this normal?? I can see this being an issue if I am ever somewhere and I specifically decide not to lug the cord with me. This is kind of a big deal, no?

Originally, I thought maybe it was a bios issue. I'd tried the new Gateway one posted on Macles' site. But now I've downgraded to 3309 and still the same thing happens. Also, yesterday, the laptop was plugged in and then decided to unplug and head to another room, and the machine shut off. As if the battery was not working at all, though I'm certain it'd been charging. Shoot, the more I write about it, the more I think I need to contact the seller asap.

"Rich in ILM", I ordered this battery from the same place you did. Can you test this out and see if it's just me.

I just found the identical problem, last night, and wrote the seller.

If you, also, write it may add some concern. I did notice that when the original battery is put in place there is a brief flash from the power button as there seems to be a reset. That doesn't occur with the new battery. This problem doesn't seem to be apparent as long as the new battery isn't separated from the computer. It seems the power connection needs to be there to reset the new battery to the computer. It would be very easy to miss this problem for a long time as I tend to recharge as soon as I change the battery.

It will be interesting to see what the reply is. In all other respects this seems to be a very high quality battery.

Thanks Rich. I just emailed the seller. The not activating on boot is a little weird, but what's especially troubling is the fact it didn't automatically start powering the machine when I disconnected the laptop from the power supply. If I'd been doing something important, I'm sure there would have been some data loss. We'll see how it goes.

Mine doesn't seem to have that problem. I can pull the power cord and it is on battery.
