Can anyone advise of an alternative program that will have similar results to notebook batterymonitor above please? I have installed Win7, and apparently it only runs on 2000/xp (until the new 1.3 is released - however it's been over 6 months already!!).

Saying that, couldnt i just prepare a bootable usb key that boots xp and run it on there?

Interestingly, have just picked up 2 new 6600mAh's from a uk seller for £20 each + £4 postage. Would love to be able to check them out when they arrive in (hopefully) 24/48 hours...

Just received my 5200MhA battery from 100digi, which is indeed reporting the correct design capacity.

    Let's see how it goes.

    Cheers, Alan.

    Thanks mercado79 :)

The only problem i have to say is that this reports the battery capacity in mWh instead of mAh - can anyone tell me what 73,260mWh in mAh is please? :)

    6600mAH.

Divide the wattage (73,260) by the voltage (11.1v) to get the amperage.

Hi everyone, I am also interested in purchasing a larger capacity battery for my AAO. My concern is the size of the batteries, I have seen plenty of pictures of the batteries themselves but it is hard to gauge exactly how big they are in reality. Could someone with the 6 / 9 cell batteries post pics with the battery attached to AAO please? Thanks.

Thanks for that, as I feared the 9 cell is just too big for me. I guess I'll go for the 6 cell.

Correction... I have my machine in front of me right now. It does actually lift up a little, just not as much as the one in the review. It's straighter on the top (comes out at a 45 degree angle) and a little rounded on the bottom. i don't have any regrets about getting my 5200 mah battery over the 9-cells. It just seems like a good compromise between battery life and weight/size.

I have the same battery and for what I do I never see 50% levels. If I really think if I was in a situation that would stretch out I would just take the original OEM battery along for a secondary source.

I received the battery from 100digi today with a 95% charge showing on XP's battery monitor. I'm using it now and will put it on charge over-night. Really happy with the look and apparent build quality of the battery.

Just received my 7200 9 cell from Hong Kong today. I am seriously impressed with the seller.
The battery is sold as "7200mAH Battery Acer Aspire One 8.9" AoA150 150 110 A150X." however
on the battery the label says 7800mAH. Regardless of what it says, it works well and arrived
in 7 days delivery time from China to Ottawa Canada!
This has got to be the one of the best sellers I've dealt with and can't help but plug his abilities
His seller name is hk-zhaoyu. Battery was 49.88 including shipping. He was also kind enough to mark it as
gift. No duties or anything :)

That was on the first charge. I see what you mean...maybe I was a little too enthusiastic!
    Hopefully it will be better!

Ordered the 5200 from 100digi on ebay on May 12, received it May 26.
Very happy with build quality and balance between power and not adding too much to size and weight.

I have only had time to use it through 2 charge discharge cycles, first one I didn't have the battery software so I don't know the final number, 2nd cycle at full charge read 54878 mwh /11.1 =4943.
Pretty close to the 5200 so hopefully will build to full capacity.

Question: I notice that on these first two cycles the battery drops off more rapidly on the bottom end, ie once below 50% it seems to drop much faster, is this normal?

    Thanks,
    larrupin

I don't recall ever getting the full 5200mAH from my 6-cell. You seem to be at something approaching 96% capacity after only a couple of charges which seems pretty good to me at this stage. If you are really lucky then you may have a good set of cells in your battery and achieve slightly more than 100% capacity.

I'm still showing 3% - 4% wear level after 3 months use, so no complaints given the low purchase cost of this battery.

I would expect the discharge rate to increase as the voltage drops off and the voltage drops off naturally as the battery discharges (this certainly happens on all my 3-cell and 6-cell batteries). Fully charged, my 6-cell shows almost 12V, when it is almost completely discharged the voltage drops below 11V. Something like Notebook BatteryInfo for Windows will show you the current voltage and discharge rates.

    Thanks ronime for the response!

I have only had the 3 cell orginal battery before and it has such a short life compared to this new one that I hadn't really noticed top half versus bottom half discharge rates.

Plus I am just watching this one close because I just got it and wanted to make sure it was good.

Thanks for your explanation that makes perfect sense and I should have known that.

All in all very pleased with my new 6 cell!
