I just found this Media Center, it looks pretty slick but still an early version. Anyone tried it yet? It's also available for Windows, so i posted this in that forum as well. Still waiting for my AAO unfortunately.

I notice the current version is "Corporal Nobbs".

    *must have now*

Edit: hmm, the one in the standard repository is the older 0.3x. Which complains about invalid python commands and does not start...
Let us see if compilation is the key to succes.

    Re: Elisa Media Center

I 'do the mess' because I want to let both Linux users AND Windows user know that this software is available, as I stated in my third sentence of the post. Users who only watch the windows forum or vice-versa would otherwise not see this if I only posted on one side. If you have another means of announcing a cross-platform product in a forum that lacks a cross-platform group, by all means let me know.

What about general discussion?? I believe that place is for non technical subjects and your news fits there perfectly...

    Re: Elisa Media Center

I didn't post there because that forum is for discussion about the AAO machine, in fact the mods plainly state "Discuss Aspire One laptop in general - please use this forum as a last resort if your topic isn't listed...". Elisa Media Center is software for Linux, and software for windows. Hence my reason for posting in the related forums. In no way is it a general discussion about the AAO.

I'm done arguing this point, it's fruitless and deviates from the topic. If you don't care for my posts, don't read them.

Any success? I can't seem to make it start either. It gets stuck after complaining about missing lirc libs. It looks really cool, if it would work.
