email and rss reader stopped working

I have applied the live update and now my email and rss reader do not work. They did work before, clicking on the icons now does nothing.

Any ideas?

I have tracker down the problem to:

[user@localhost desktop]$ AME -rss
/usr/acer/bin/AMEbin: error while loading shared libraries: libxpcom_core.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory


The I cannot find a file libxpcom_core.so installed

Please can some one tell me what to do, I only have a basic knowledge of linux

For those that follow, I have found a solution looking st this web site http://jorge.ulver.no/2008/08/06/acer-a ... nd-tricks/

Basically do the following

wget http://jorge.ulver.no/files/firefox-files.tar.gz
gunzip http://jorge.ulver.no/files/firefox-files.tar.gz
tar xvf http://jorge.ulver.no/files/firefox-files.tar
cd firefox-files
mv libgtkembedmoz.so /usr/acer/lib/
mv libxpcom_core.so /usr/acer/lib/

This fixed it, I think this was because I had installed firefox 3 from the acer site before doing the upgrade.
