    how to install these drivers?

I had my LED working, but after adding two lines to the rc.local file concerning the cardslots, th cardslots work but the wifi-led doen't work anymore.
Do i need the drivers or is somethingelse going on? It was working before!

If you're using the madwifi wireless driver files, then add the following to rc.local:
    Code:
    sysctl -w dev.wifi0.ledpin=3
    sysctl -w dev.wifi0.softled=1
If you're using the ath5k driver, the LED doesn't work.

Bottom line: which is more important, two working card slots or an orange LED?

Card slots are most important, LED is nice to have.
I did add the lines you mention before, But how do i check the driver i use, and how do i install an other one? That was my real question!

    Code:
    lsmod | grep ath
. Donec is, apparently (but please3 correct me if I'm wrong), using the madwifi driver (ath_pci) rather than ath5k

You would see ath5k (ath5k driver) or ath_pci (madwifi driver) or ndiswrapper (Windows driver for the Atheros wireless card)

In the MCC under hardware I found a misc listing that said ath_pci so I guess that is what I have. However it is the default for my Mandriva 2009 Gnome setup as I did not change anything to do with the network other than put in the WAP code.

Working defaults are good. Interesting that the ath_pci module in the latest Ubuntu kernel doesn't work on the AA1

I don't think it has anything to do with the AAO. I have had wireless problems with Ubuntu and Ubuntu derivatives for quite some time. Ubuntu keeps messing up the wireless password.

Nope. My install is the plain Mandriva ONE Gnome.... Again, and I've been repeating this over and over in this forum. Install Mandriva 2009 using WIRED connection! The wifi drivers will be installed properly and the wifi LEDs will work right away. Cheers. ;)

For those who want to try to get the blinking lights working with a windows wifi driver and ndiswrapper, the driver you need is here:

    http://www.getpcmemory.com/drivers/down ... p-drivers/

Has anyone done this yet? How are the results - speed of connection, stability of connection...?
