We’re a group of engineering students looking for a laptop that can handle engineering software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB, and other demanding applications. Our budget is somewhere in the mid-range—we don’t want to overspend, but at the same time, we need something reliable that won’t struggle with our workload.

Ideally, we’re looking for a laptop with a powerful processor, preferably an Intel i7 or Ryzen 7, but we’re open to suggestions if there are good alternatives. It should have at least 16GB of RAM (or the option to upgrade) and a dedicated GPU that can manage 3D modeling and simulations. Storage-wise, we’d prefer an SSD for faster performance.

Battery life is also important since we’ll be taking it to classes and working on projects throughout the day. A 15-inch or larger display would be great for better visibility while working, though we’d consider a 14-inch option if it offers a good balance of portability and power.

What do you think about the HP EliteBook 13th Gen? I checked its specs, and they look amazing. What’s your opinion?
