Error 24 Please Help

I am trying to fix a cousins Aspire One net book running Linux and please don't hate me as I am used to windows :ugeek: so I keep getting an error 24 message even when trying to run a boot CD so I don't think it's the hard drive but maybe the bios. :oops: Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks! :)
