I tried to install windows xp, home and later the pro-version.
Installation went fine until rebooting during setup and starting (resuming setup) from the harddisk (SSD) 'when it went wrong. There is an error that says a file called asms is missing. It looks like Windows setup isnt able to find the cdrom sins the file (actually a folder) is on the CD Rom. I am a bit surprised that I couldn't find any post to this subject in this forum.

Is there anybody who has encountered the same problem and solved it?

When I had this problem I just had to point the installer to the location of the files on the cdrom, which in my case was D:\I386

    Hope this helps.

Something seems to be happening... (something good i think). Did it ask you for a bunch of other files aswell? - - (and did you type in the same location?) D:\I386

Yeah you have to do it for about 15 files, all in the same place!

I copied my XP over to an SD card (in a USB adapter, of course) since my Aspire doesn't have a CD and I don't have a USB-CD drive. I've tried just typing in "D:\i386" when it prompts me for the location of the missing files, but that doesn't seem to work. I haven't tried just doing it 15 times over though, so maybe it is working once for each file and I just need to do it a bunch?
