Error message AFTER live updates

Hi All I recently did a recovery on my Acer Aspire One with Linpus Lite as so much was so screwed up on it. After the restore, messenger was working perfectly. I did the live update and now it won't work - I get that horrible old "Our protocol will not support" blah blah message. Looked all over but can't find a way to sort it out. Can anyone help?
