Error resolving dependencies

    I appologise before hand if this has been covered by a search of the database revealed no matches. I have just got my shiney aspire (linux 120gigHD). Am trying to use the package updater to update softwarebut get the following error

    Error resolving dependencies
    Unable to resolve dependencies for some packages selected for installation

    Details: missing dependency: linpulse.so.0 (PULSE_0) is needed by package mplayer

    also libdvdnavmini.so.4 is needed by package mplayer

    Any suggestion or a link to where its been discussed.
