I'm having trouble connecting to the network or internet. I did the diagnostic and this is a fresh install of iDeneb. It says that there is no Ethernet connection but I see both the green and orange lights lit and flickering (for the orange one). I have tried two separate Ethernet cords too.

Nah it shows up as an interface that's available but that nothing's connected to it, but the interface lights being active tells me otherwise

Check if your eth has a valid mac addr (not all 0s).
And does the eth work in other os?

Yeah it definitely has a valid 'Ethernet ID' when I checked and the ethernet did work in the XP operating system I had on it prior.

I tried to reinstall it and did the ethernet patch too and then it mentioned something about the startup programs and a security issue. I rebooted it and it went from once again not having any internet to once it rebooted being able to :D Thanks :)

    Hey

What did you reinstall? Where did you get this from? Ethernet patch? Where did you get it from?

I'm having this porblem too, I've just installed iDeneb v1.4 and the ethernet is not working. I've followed all the instructions in the tutorial.

Can you please upload or direct me to these two files?

    Thank you.

Okay I tried that rory and it didn't work.

The way I got it working was I booted my acer into my Windows 7.

I then went into advanced setting of my network card through device manager (went to my card and clicked properties) went on the power management or power save tab and ticked the two boxes there which basically allow a wake on lan after shutdown.

And it is now working, yay! :D
