    Hi,

I'm new here. I want to buy an Aspire One, but I'm still deciding which model.

I want to have a 6-cell battery, but resellers don't have that information (web or local). I saw at wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspire_One) that the only model that has 6-cell is the one with 160GB HDD. I would like to confirm that info: so,

    1. Does every 160GB HDD model has a 6-cell battery?

    2. Does only the 160GB HDD model has a 6-cell battery?

    Thanks guys.

    Hi mate

    1. No there isn't 6-cell battery in every model of AAO 160gb version , but you can buy 6-cell battery for about 50-80€.

2.I think there is 120gb model with 6-cell but i am not so sure about that.

My 120GB AAO came with 6-Cell as standard however it was supplied through a Education Supplier here in AUS.

Havn't seen them in normal retail channels though :/

So is there a way to know if a certain AAO has a 3 or 6-cell battery? I often see an subtype indication after the model name. For example, "Acer Aspire One A150-1447" (at http://www.buy.com/prod/aoa150-atm-1-6- ... 27371.html) or "Acer Aspire One A150-Bb" (at http://www.pixmania.com/fr/fr/1731327/a ... 50-bb.html).

These subtype indications show if the battery is 3 or 6-cell? Are there any descriptions for these subtype indications?

    Thanks, guys!

Well some web stores tell that battery type and some doesn't. If you want to be sure you could call to that shop and ask about it.

Here is the link to the configurations screen at acer: http://us.acer.com/public/page4.do?link ... 1628973581

The following models all come with a 6 cell battery:

AOA150-1447 (blue, windows, 1Gb RAM; 160 Gb Hard drive and 6 cell battery)
AOA150-1126 (white, windows, 1Gb RAM; 160 Gb Hard drive and 6 cell battery)
AOA150-1983 (brown, windows, 1Gb RAM; 160 Gb Hard drive and 6 cell battery)
AOA150-1049 (black, windows, 1Gb RAM; 160 Gb Hard drive and 6 cell battery)
AOA150-1672 (pink, windows, 1Gb RAM; 160 Gb Hard drive and 6 cell battery)

If you are purchasing one, the list price is $399. HOWEVER a lot of folks want more $$ for it. I've seen the AOA150-1447 listed for $600. I had to argue with the folks at J&R Music World to get it at the suggested retail price (They wanted $419.) The salesman asked me where I was getting my prices from and I told him, the Acer Press Release (duh!) It is also hard to find in stock right now, which is why I purchased mine from J&R. They did ship quickly.

Also before you drop a lot of $ at Best Buy or Circuit City, do a google search on your accessories. I paid $30 online for a no-name CD drive and $12 for the IR port (and both were a lot more in the stores.)
