    Hi there

I'm having a lot of difficulty trying to install anything
on my acer aspire one. Can't seem to execute anything.
There are lots of executable files showing for the software,
but there's no installation process... nothing happens.

Just bought an external USB CD ROM to install
things like Photoshop & Nero express, and my EPSON
printer on my Aspire One. The machine always recognises
the different Cd ROms - but if I click on the Photoshop Elements
link in the list of external devices for e.g., it simply opens a
window with a range of available executable files.
How do I install my software??? It's driving me crazy!!!

I even have got myself into the 'advanced menu' and
done the right-click 'add/remove software' option under
'system'. I input the correct password & all seems
to be well - the acer retrieves software info & then
opens up a box with 3 columns 'browse', 'list', etc.
Don't recognise any of the files it lists in these areas.
Certainly can't find my new software on the desktop.

    Can you please help me?

Simon - a man missing Windows XP!

sounds like you're trying to install Windows software onto Linux?
