I've been exploring the desktop on my aspire one and have a few questions. I am not a linux veteran, but not a noob either. after utilizing the advanced desktop menu hack, I noticed there are alot of compiz and emerald settings enabled by default, and the xfce desktop has several usual options unavailable, such as a session manager, splash screen, and panel options. I've looked through the xfce optional packages, as well as those in the livna repositories, and cannot find a way to reinstall the xfce base. does anyone know of a way? Also, are the settings already there, hidden under all the compiz, or are they blacklisted?

I gave up and used the custom desktop thread to provide a system that was sensible to use.
