External battery for aao (UK)?

    I have seen a couple of references to using an external battery for the aao instead of a higher capacity 'internal'. This appeals to me for several reasons but I am having difficulty finding one that is suitable in the UK. I have seen a video on youtube of someone using one from Maplin but that is no longer sold and the listed voltage was too high for the aao. Anyone have any recomendations?
