External display - alternative resolutions?

    Posted this on the beginners forum, but no answers so far. Simple question really - the screen resolution gui only offers me one screen resolution option, even for the second screen when I have the AAO plugged into the VGA cable for the TV. I'd like to up the resolution. How do I go about this, and what is the max external resolution the AAO will support?

    Sorry to be persistent about this, but I seem to be getting a stunned silence in response to my question.

    Is this because there is no way of adding further display resolutions to the AAO under Linpus, or is it some sort of communication error between my TV's VGA port and the AAO?

    I'd really appreciate a pointer from someone, if only just to tell me I'm barking up the wrong tree!
