I bought a no-name brand DVD drive for my AAO running Ubuntu a few days ago but can't get it to play DVDs at all. Depending on the application, it refuses to play or just crashes. It can read audio CDs - sort of (with a lot of skipping) and can read data CDs. I reckon there's a driver problem since I already set the region code. Because there's no brand name I have no idea where to search. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

Edit: I tried it on a Windows PC which already had a DVD drive built in. It worked fine.
