External Hard Drive

    Could a USB External Hard Drive be used to load XP, or does it have to be an optical drive?
    I thought to load XP Pro from disc onto the hard drive using my desktop and then connect the external hard drive to the One via the USB. Would this work ?

    Thank you. Unfortunately, it's my failure with USB flash drives that has led me consider using a hard disk.
    Has anyone tried this alternative?
