I have a two part question.

    1)
I screw up my external monitor with OSX. I got OSX to install and run and it’s really cool! But, working on the tiny LCD is not fun. So I attached my 24” LCD external monitor and nothing. In display settings it detects the monitor but displays nothing. So I clicked a few setting and tried FN+F6, and still nothing. Then I saw the “Mirror displays” checkbox and clicked it. Well now the external monitor works except all it shows is garbage and also the Acer LCD shows the same garbage.

So how do I remove this setting? I tried a few things; searched on google and nothing work. Any help please?

    2)
Does the external monitor even work, and if so, how!?

    Thanks in advance

    delete the file "com.apple.windowserver.plist"

    located in /Library/Preferences/

then reboot. The "enabled mirror" setting will have been forgotten.
