external monitor

    I have an Acer one and an Aspire 5570Z and two separate external monitors. When I connect either monitor to either computer, and then boot the connected computer, the connected monitor displays the Acer logo, then the Windows logo, and then a "No Signal". Obviously some signal is passing from the computer to the monitor, but no real data. Pressing FnF5 has no effect. Any suggestions?

    Under Windows, you typically right-click on your desktop, goto properties, and under the screen resolution settings you should be able to enable/disable the external LCD and/or change resolutions.
