A German court has fined social networking giant Facebook $109,330 for failing to comply with a court order to make amendments to its terms regarding user content, Wall Street Journal reported.

In the Facebook case, the regional court in Berlin came down heavily on Facebook's terms that applied to German users.

According to the Facebook's terms, users "grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP (intellectual property) content that you post on or in connection with Facebook."

That's a good news. I wish this also happen in our country. I am fed up with how facebook operates and uses user content for its own benefits. I don't like the way facebook traces our online activities to feed us advertorials.

I wish Germany would have fined Facebook a lot more than that for their violations of local and national laws, censorship, control, and violation of each user's privacy while using their system. It's a start, and I'm glad they got this, but I feel it should be at least a few million or more. Hopefully it will be later.

So far, they've messed with the laws of Germany, France, USA, China, and Russia, and got away with it to a degree.

They are currently trying to take advantage of the Indian people by making it to where they can have only Facebook as a form of internet service, and nothing else.

I've always been against Microsoft's practices for how they treat users and their competition, but I am seeing that same approach or worse being done by Facebook to millions of people in different countries to entrap them.

I hope everyone stands up against Facebook and what they are doing.
