I`m find way to fix ACPIEC log error in Windows XP

    Download this archive, unzip it.

    Copy acpiecNoLog.sys to folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers

Go to regedit and find :

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ACPIEC
    Edit "ImagePath" to system32\DRIVERS\acpiecNoLog.sys

    Reboot and enjoy ;)
Sorry for my English, Hello from Ukraine.

    Tested on WinXP SP2

Latest version didn't work for me either, on the the 3305 bios. Same behavior as the second latest release.

Welcome to the forums and thanks for the fix, Freestyler. :)

Could you let us know what you actually did to the file? ;)

When I tried the fix for the log thing I lost all my power stuff including the battery indicator on the task bar. I used a hex editor to to fix the file and made sure I have a hex null in place of the extra character per the instructions.

I have both speedfan and aa1fancontrol installed. Speedfan is reporting cpu temps 10-12 degrees less than AA1SpeedFan all the time. Which one is right? Why are they not the same?

    Thanks

Fan control in 55 or 60C°... is the optimal value

Bad news, I tried the CoreTemp dll, but it requires the CoreTemp program to be running, so it's not a good solution :/ If someone has a solution or a dll for reading the temperature from the CPU MSR, send me PM please..

    Hi Noda,

Thanks for the great software and for looking into the CoreTemp dll. Definitely not a good solution to require the CoreTemp program to be running.

Can someone email me the file to fix the log issues. Everytime I go to the site rapidshare says I am already downloading a file and wants me to sign up for a premium membership. I think it's a scam of some sort.

Please take out of the //// in the address when sending.

    Thanks!

    Off Topic

I would recommend that you run Eset on-line Scanner, http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/, you might be surprised with what it finds, fair chance your IP has been hijacked by a Trojan Eset will find & delete any malicious code.

The latest version of a1ctl has finally been released: viewtopic.php?f=44&t=6063

It uses less memory, is more customizable, has more features and best of all, is open-source ;)

The AA1 fan is driving me nuts! I just received my AA1 yesterday, and the fan started running the second I turned it on (!!) and ran continuously until I installed Ralf's fancontrol. The fan went off for a couple hours, but then it started turning on (full blast) and off at few-second intervals and hasn't quit since. It seemed to turn on/off regardless of CPU temp. (The default was on/70 off/65.) I just switched it to off/60, and at least the fan's staying on for a longer time, but it doesn't seem to be cooling it off much (temps are actually going up at the moment). I don't have any programs running. I just noticed my CPU usage is fluctuating between about 60-100% (not sure if this is even related, but it seems high compared to my other laptop). Is there another fix I should try?

    thanks!

Sonarasky, I have tried both fan control software programs, and while I like that the a1 fan control because of it's simplicity (it does only one thing control the fan), it has only two temp settings for On and Off. Noda's a1ctl tool actually has 3 temps you can set for, off (I have set to 54), slow speed (I have set to 62) and auto ( I have set to 67). I hardly ever trigger the auto but when I do, it sounds like a jet engine.

With Noda's tool, you can also set the fan to always be slow speed. I use that setting a lot when the noise around me is pretty high and will drown out the noise of the fan. Last night on the train ride home, running MS word with the fan running on slow kept the temp below 50.

Your netbook should not be jumping 60% to 100% when you don't have any programs running. Check your processes and see what is actually taking up your resources, maybe it's your virus scanner or something else. If you can get your cpu down to the 10% or less when you don't have any programs running, you'll most likely see a big drop in temperature.

Does this program come in Linux flavor?
