anyone know how to uninstall AA1fancontrol ?

a file and folder search doesn't show any results, all I can do is uninstall TVicPortInstall41.exe which just causes an error on boot up "can't find TVic..." ? :?

    running XP Home SP3

    thanks

TVicPortInstall41.exe is the installer for TVicPort, you cannot uninstall the installer.

    Proceed as follows:

    1. Intall TVicPort using TVicPortInstall41.exe
    2. Install AA1FanControl, i.e. copy AA1FanControl.exe onto your C: drive.
    3. For each user on the machine, login as the user, start AA1FanControl, click on the AA1FanControl system tray icon and then in the pop-up click on the "Autostart ..." label until it shows "Autostart off".
    4. Now that Autostart is disabled for all users you can simply delete AA1FanControl.exe on your C: drive.

    You're welcome.

Alternatively, you could use "msconfig", a 3rd-party startup entry manager, or good old "regedit" to remove the startup entry for AA1FanControl for each user.

    Hello! New to the board!

Just loaded this GREAT software to hush my turbo loud fan. THANKS! Only question I have is how do I set this up so it starts at start up. everytime I start my computer up from off the fan defaults back to always on.

    Thanks!

You can have AA1FanControl start automatically when you log in.

If you have more than one user set up and the "login" page is displayed where you choose a user then the fan will control to run here after a cold boot or reboot because AA1FanControl will not start until the user's desktop starts up.

To enable autostart, click on the little green fan icon in the system tray. The AA1FanControl "window" will not appear, floating just above the task bar. Click on the "Autostart off" text in the window. This label should now change to "Autostart on". AA1FanControl will now start up when the user logs in. You probably need to log in and repeat this for every user on the machine.

Well I'm very satisfied of that software. works great on my AOA150 with newer bios 3309. My setting: fan start 53 fan stop 49. I made some modification with cooling system, by adding cooling module from other device. If anybody is interested follow the link

Thanks masterpit! I'd be interested in doing something like this, but I'm not sure where to find a cooling module like the one in the video. What search terms should I try? Google isn't really giving me anything useful.

just did some more searching and it seems like using "chipset cooling" as search terms brings back some relevant results. Haven't found what I need yet, but... Tracking down a local shop might be the best bet.

Just go to the local PC shop and ask if they have some cooling mods for chips. Remember that dimensions are 2 / 2 cm wide and 5 millimeters. height. You can try with 2,5/2,5 wide but not more. I found only aluminum mods but if you find copper buy it. Brass heat sink have better thermal performance. (better heat conducting)

Thanks for the recommendations. I appreciate it. From the brief searching I did, I didn't see anything that small, but hopefully in store they have something.

    Hi,

I have a problem with AA1FanControl. I tried it the 1st time today, set it to autostart and leaved all settings at default values. First, I enjoyed the silence. After one minute or so, the Acer switched itself off. Then I no longer enjoyed the silence... ;)

Why did the system switch off itself? A self-protecting thing? The CPU temperature was at about 50°C that moment.

    Hi Olaf
And then what? What happened after it turned off? Did you try to switch it back again? Which version of bios are you using? Maybe the problem is not in AA1FanControl. Did you install TVicport correctly. What is your operating system?

    Hi,

it is a A110 with 16 GB SSD, WinXP Home with Nlite customisations (installed by myself, not the Acer version). Works great. C: is FAT formatted (not FAT32) to get more write speed.

    BIOS is latest (3309).
    TVicport installed without problems.

When the machine switches itself off, there is no unusual behaviour after that. I can power it on by pressing the power button, followed by a long CHKDSK session.

To me it seems that AA1FanControl writes to a port that makes the A110 shut off immediately.

    Hi,

I also have the same problem.
It is bios version 3309. Acer has changed fan on/off values several times for the different bios releases. AA1 fan control is dated 27/10/2008, and it supports bios before that date.

It seems that the next version of a1ctl (to be released) will allow you to introduce in a ini file the fan on/off/auto values, so if acer changes them (and you discover the new values), the program will continue working.

    Regards,

I have no problems. When I updated my BIOS meet the same problem but after I remove the battery everything runs normal. Problem occurred that the computer works for a while (40-60 sec) then turns off. I installed the AA1fancontrol a few days after the problem with BIOS updating. So try to remove the battery.

Just unplug the power cord from the outlet, than remove the battery for a while, press power on button, then put it back plug the power cord in the outlet and turn the acer on. I did the same. Since then I have not had problems.

I tried that and had no luck. Now, Fancontrol puts my fan to maximum speed, and the battery lamp starts blinking although the battery is at 80%. And Fancontrol put itself into autostart, d'oh!

I don't know maybe you should go to your provider and tell him about your problem. I 'm pretty sure that the problem coming from bios.
