Hmm, perhaps there are different hardware versions out there?

It would be great to hear an opinion from LoveTheOne about this.

As a complete newbie to the Acer Aspire One, I would like to get this software too, but don't know what settings to use. At what temperature should the fan come on, and when should it go off. Don't want to fry it!

i replace SSD(samsung) with compact flash, added 1 GB RAM, installed WIN XP. All works perfectly except for the fan. It run always at the same speed, even if the laptop is very hot. I tried all the software available but they introduce others kind of problems/errors. If nobody found a solution i will continue to work hoping in a long life of my aspire 110

Fan control 1.6 is nothing short of fantastic. The quiet is great. Thanks for writing this program. I am amazed that Acer hasn't made you an offer. Teamed up with a 9 cell battery ($67!!) the AAO runs even cooler due to (much) better airflow under the computer. After setting the CPU temp at 60 degrees, I rarely hear the fan.

I installed the TVicPort 4.1 Software as it says in the README, then i rebooted and when i run the installer for the Fan Control Software, my fan suddenly went to max speed for about 2 seconds then it stopped for 2 seconds, then it went to max speed for 2 seconds and this continued. i canceled the software install and uninstalled TVicPort 4.1 and it seems to be back to normal. Im dissapointed because i wanted to use this software because the fan really Ticked me off when it maxed out on me in a quiet room.

Any ideas whats wrong? or is this normal?

    Thanks

My compliments to the developer. This is one utility I'm glad I downloaded. A donation will be forthcoming.

One thing I would like to ask for is the ability to reposition the display. I autohide the taskbar (gotta make use of every pixel on this little screen) and it obscures the taskbar when it pops up. Also, a transparency adjustment would be great.

    Thanks for your consideration.

Doesn't work for me I'm afraid,

    Windows XP SP3 (TinyXP Rev09), BIOS 3309 A110 8Gb SSD.

Program does run but fans whir on and off every few seconds (program on default settings)

If you press the red power button on the control strip the app stops responding . .ie won't switch on again.

The biggest issue however is that when its running my normal cpu usage (without app running ranges from 0-12% at idle) goes up to between 50-79% at idle.

Increasing the upper temp level to 72 causes the machine to shutdown.

Hope the info is of some help (and no I won't be downgrading the BIOS :)

Will a future release be supporting the Intel Atom N280 with BIOS 1.02 - 1.05?
