At this time FAN OFF mean no FAN ?
With no FAN, temperature increase slowly and every x minutes, a FAN ON is required. With a little % RPM i think the result will be different.

Im really not getting any noticable difference in battery life without the fan running. Not the dramatic change that some guys on here were saying. How do you remove the program entirely, I just dont think the fan noise was a big deal.

    Hello again!

Ok i understand ... a "Save Mode" that means "Fan 10%" for people who are afraid of "FAN OFF" would be very nice!

But i am not able to control the fan speed (at the moment) ... 3 options are definitelly working at the moment:

    1. Auto-Controlled ($00)
    2. Completely off ($1F)
    3. High speed ($20 ... some of the AA1 out there are doing very low speed with this option)

Did the ubuntu-people find a way to run the fan at specific RPM or % ?

I know, a Temp/Speed-table would be perfect ... but it´s not possible by now.

    Best regards

    Ralf

In release 0.9, on my PC (A150 Bios 0.3114), when the the fan was running to cool the CPU it was only at low speed when active. It was $20 ? right ? This can explain why my One was getting hoter.

I am very happy if not with the fan control, but with the fan performance. I have FAN ON at 65 and FAN OFF at 58 and its floating right around 58/61 very nicely.

Please just work on the error log stuff and I'll shut up.

You actually will get those error log errors in Vista as well, but only about 5 entries and only at startup and then they go away.

Appreciate all the improvements Ralf and my confidence is definitely improved with full fan speed back in your second release ... the on/off function is welcome too.

    Hello,
I use fan speed sowtware and I love it! Works like a charm for me. BUT; What´s a good temperature to use with the application? Is it dangerous if my CPU have 55-65 degrees CPU temperature? Please give directions about a good configuration for the application.

    Thanks

Still waiting for answere of my last question but I have one thing I would like about a new version of the application:

    1. It would be awesome if the "tray" icon could show the CPU temperature instead of the "Green Fan". (SpeedFan have this solution!)

Not very important but it would be a great feature,

Ralf, great work! That only three values are known to work makes most of our wishes obsolete :-(
    Some comments:

    Ack!

This was discussed several times. The Intel Specs are thus that even 85 and 75 should not do any damage. If you love it cooler, choose lower values. I chose 80 and 70 for an (nearly) always silent, though a little warm (but: Did you ever touch a recent MacBook Pro?) AA1.

With my XP Pro SP3 installation, this is not so, at least not always. It occurs rather erratically here when going to sleep mode, with 1.0 as well as with 0.9.

I also want to express my great appreciation for you taking the time to create this program. The AA1 is a wonderful machine except for the irritating whine from the CPU fan. Thank you so much for saving the day!

Right now while I'm typing this, my stock XP A150 sitting on the table in a 20C room has my CPU at 51C. During the day with normal web surfing usage I often see it up around 57C. I have my fan set for 60 on / 55 off and it often kicks in when the CPU gets moderately busy.

I think if you want the fan running low much of the time, you could set the off temp to 50 and when the temp gets down into the low 50's the auto-speed will run the fan fairly slowly. However, I've never had it run as slow as when I was running version 0.9 where my fan would only ever run very slowly when it was on.

Just installed here and it's beautiful.

(Stopping the warning messages in the event viewer would be a good fix though).

+1 for stopping the error messages.

Also, maybe take a look at the differences in the new firmware that is stopping your software from working.

This program is good work and a great relieve for much users.

However, what makes me slightly uncomfortable is the lack of a failure control. When the program dies because of an error or because the process is killed, the fan stays off even if the temperature rises. It would be a lot safer if there would be a second watchdog process running which checks the correct operation of the main program.

can someone post the 0.9 version? I'm just curious to test how noisy is my fan when running slowly
