    Hi I have a ZG5 AOA110 1GB mem 16GB SSD

Got a fan noise issue, its a buzzing sound and its driving me mad.

The one installed is an ABA AB4305HX-KB3. I have tried switch cleaner which helped a bit but it is still there. The bottom case also gets quite warm, and I can only just feel some air movement from the grill.

Looking on ebay I can get ones from Hong Kong for around £10, but is this the best fan. Is the Sunon GC054006VH-A better fan if so is it compatable?

First of all I have no idea as to what fan is compatible, but I second the notion of replacing it. A noisy (buzzing/vibrating) fan is completely shot. You can lubricate them to get a little bit more life out of them but in the end, it's bushes (or bearings if they're a decent quality) have worn out. The fan will just be sitting there trying it's hardest to run at full speed, but all it's doing is probably 30-100rpm. Your machine could potentially overheat and cause major problems. Definately replace that fan A.S.A.P

As for compatibility, make sure you get a good look at any "after market" replacements, you want to ensure that the heatsync is the right shape, that its bolt holes are in the right position and if it was me, I'd me making sure that it does / doesn't come with heat transfer paste, at least if it doesn't you can use some tried and true Arctic Silver.

    swarvey. Thanks for the feedback.

With the paste definately agreed. I used some paste when I re-fitted when I tried to lubricate the current fan. I broke one of the 4 metal lugs from the heat sink but is ok and is temporary. I used switch cleaner to try to make it quiet but the fan states its hydro bearings, so much for that technology.

I have ordered both types, sunon and aba both are advertised for my model, both come without the heatsink so just the fan and outer housing ready to clip on. Will be interesting too see which one is the best and got them both below £8 each.

The fan is always running and the base can get quite warm, so this one is on its way out.

Just cant get to grips with linux and the free download files for fan control, but that wont stop the cpu form high temps.
