I have the 120gb windows model of AA1, but I am tired of windows and would like to run Ubuntu but I heard that Ubuntu boot slower than windows on the AA1? Is that true? and is there a faster distro with xfce4, gnome or kde4?

At the risk of being slightly facetious, the standard acer mod of linpus lite is a faster linux distro with xfce4.

If you prefer Debian, run Debian. You can run e17 or LXDE or a ROX-based DE or run without a full-blown DE if it's light-running that you want. If you want fast booting, run Acer's Linpus Lite - it's specially tweaked for the AA1
