Lots of suggestions to try here, I'll test them later this week after I do a restore of Fedora 10.

Are you all running xfce 4.6?

When I take another look at this, what should show up in Package Manager as being installed for sound to be operational?

An additional more-relevant question would probably be what audio-related processes are running on a Fedora 10 AAO with working sound? Alsa-related? Pulseaudio-related? Others?

I now have sound working. Not exactly sure what I did, but it seemed like the "alsamixer -c 0" step and boosting the levels made a difference after doing a clean install of Fedora 10. I haven't tested the headphone jack/muting or Skype, but if they are a problem then I'll wait to work on those until Fedora 11 is released.

Thanks all for the great help and interest!
